Roads
Zugdidi — Mestia
OpenThe main year-round route into Svaneti, about 135–140 km. The mountain section starts after Jvari: after heavy rain there can be rockfalls and short closures (summer 2026 — near Lakhamula and Khaishi — Nakra).

Transfer on this route →Mestia — Ushguli
CautionOpen, but there is rockfall in the gorge where a tunnel is being built — the road was briefly closed on 17 October. Take care.

Transfer on this route →Ushguli — Zagaro Pass — Lentekhi — Kutaisi
CautionPassable: a temporary bridge near Sakdari has been open since 30 August. First snow fell on Zagaro Pass on 2 October — dangerous on summer tyres. If you must arrive on time, the Zugdidi route is more reliable.

Mestia — Tetnuldi resort
Seasonal / special conditionsThe old dirt road to the resort is being concreted — the whole access road should be concrete by the start of the ski season. The winter transfer starts together with the lifts.

Seasonal / special conditionsRough off-road — 4x4 only. Dangerous in rain and after overnight rain, until the clay section dries; on such days we move the trip.

Hatsvali cable car (Zuruldi)
ClosedThe summer season ended on 20 October. The winter opening is expected on 20 December.

Tetnuldi lifts
ClosedThe ski season opens on 20 December. For 2026/27, ski passes will be sold through a new MTA online platform; details are still to come.
