Svaneti Ski Resorts Prepare for the 2024–2025 Season

What's happening at Tetnuldi and Hatsvali before the new season?

📅 M.T.A. has announced the opening of Mestia's ski resorts on December 20. Preparations are already underway, and this year visitors will notice changes in how to reach the resort and how parking is organized.

Here's the latest from Tetnuldi and Hatsvali!

🔴 TETNULDI: THE DIRT ROAD GOES CONCRETE

The old dirt road everyone used to drive up to the resort is being paved with concrete right now. By season opening, the work should extend all the way to the main highway—meaning the entire approach to the resort will have a concrete surface.

Drivers are wondering whether concrete will be slippery in winter. The project accounts for this with special surface preparation.

For winter road maintenance, sand has already been stockpiled, and salt will be prepared closer to the season. M.T.A. itself will be responsible for maintaining the road.

🔴 PARKING AND BARRIER GATE

The right side of the parking area has already been poured with concrete. Plans for the left side remain uncertain.

If the decision is made to continue, parking outside the designated lot will be forbidden.

🔴 TETNULDI CABLE CARS: SOME WORK ALREADY DONE

The open cable car lines—the third stage and the side route—have already been serviced:

▪️ Moving mechanisms have been lubricated;

▪️ Rollers have been replaced;

▪️ Cables have been tensioned.

The first and second stages will be prepared closer to season start.

🔴 HATSVALI: GETTING READY FOR WINTER

Hatsvali's cable car maintenance for the winter season is scheduled to be completed within ten days after the summer season ends.
