๐ต TEMPORARY BRIDGE TO BE INSTALLED ON LENTEKHI-LASDILI ROAD (Department of Motor Roads update)
Near Sakdari village, roughly at the 93-kilometer mark of the Lentekhi-Lasdili road, a temporary SARM-type bridge is planned to restore traffic flow. Machinery from the Department of Motor Roads' contractor is already on-site, with intensive work underway.
๐ต Currently, a detour has been organized for high-clearance vehicles. However, full traffic restoration on the road has not yet been achieved.
๐ด The existing vehicle bridge near Sakdari village was swept away by a river that overflowed following heavy rainfall. As a result, all types of traffic on the Sakdari-Lasdili and Ushguli-Lasdili sections have been officially temporarily restricted.
According to the Department of Roads, preventive work was being carried out at the bridge to shape and deepen the riverbed. However, due to heavy precipitation, the volume of water in the river increased sharply, leading to the bridge's destruction.
๐ต A design for a new permanent bridge has already been prepared. Tender procedures for its construction are promised to begin shortly.
Until the new bridge is completed, traffic will be served by the temporary SARM bridge.
โ ๏ธ For now, the detour is only suitable for high-clearance vehicles. Drivers of passenger cars and heavy transport are advised to account for restrictions and plan their route in advance.
