On August 14 and 15, the Zugdidi to Mestia road will be fully open for traffic. Road repair works happening in the region will not affect the main route or its capacity.
Where the repair work is happening
The closure applies to the road to Chuberi—a separate route that does not impact the popular tourist corridor between Zugdidi and Mestia.
What this means for travelers
If you're planning a trip on the classic Zugdidi to Mestia to Zugdidi loop, nothing changes for you. The road will operate normally, and you'll reach the main attractions of Upper Svaneti without any obstacles.
