🌧 Heavy Rain Coming to Svaneti
Georgia's National Environmental Agency is warning of worsening weather across Western Georgia.
From October 21 through midday October 22, heavy rainfall is expected in places, with possible thunderstorms and strong winds.
Special attention in the warning focuses on the Inguri River and its tributaries, where heavy precipitation could cause water levels to rise significantly.
Mountain areas also face an increased risk of landslides and debris flows.
The hazard level is assessed as moderate.
Recall that on October 19, rockfall forced a closure of the Mestia–Ushguli road section. Over the coming days, we recommend extra caution when traveling mountain roads and checking current restrictions before heading out.
